WAXING |
After waxing the skin is dry and hairs become softer. This means they are less likely to push through the skin's surface. It is a common thing amongst most people, however we do have products at National Skin Institute that can help prevent them.
The skin can become sensitive and irritated from the hairs being pulled out of the follicle. Aftercare products should be used. Avoid exercise or sun exposure on the same day and use a gentle soap to wash the area.

DIATHERMY - SKIN TREATMENT |
We treat dilated capillaries (commonly known as 'broken' capillaries) on the face and décolletage with a treatment called Diathermy. Many Australians share the problem of couperose skin or dilated capillaries (small veins and blood vessels), and Diathermy is the most effective remedy. For more information or bookings contact us.
Diathermy is the use of high frequency electric current to produce heat.
This is a quick process where we insert a fine needle into the capillary, which will produce a current. This current will then drain away the blood that causes the broken capillaries to appear.
The main cause of dilated capillaries is hereditary, however there are many other causes that can include: natural hormone changes, pregnancy, menopause, obesity, smoking, medication, alcohol, climate, misuse of exfoliants and peels, physical trauma, constant use of tissues and sudden increase/ decrease in circulation by using saunas, plunge pools, or hot showers.
Some skins will develop very tiny scabs after treatment. This is to enable the skin to heal and you must follow after-care instructions as advised by your therapist to ensure correct skin healing.
Diathermy is an individualised treatment, therefore it is hard to say how many you will need. Your therapist will be able to give you more of an idea once your skin is assessed.
